What are we looking for?

Efacec’s Space Department, started in 2002, and has been one of the most successful Portuguese company in the space business, with four units, fully developed by Efacec, already flew in space and more to come in this year and next years!

Mission:
  • Designing and analysing equipment for the Space sector ensuring structural integrity in all its domains (from the mechanical housing to the inside electronics) to the external environment, loads and forces, to which it will be subjected;
  • In this context, the candidate must be able to conceive, design and analyse, autonomously and/or in group, a feasible mechanical solution to be used in the equipment, implement it in CAD, analyse its structural performance, prepare the production and finally integrate and qualify the equipment;
  • All work is performed closely to the prime contractor and project partners, to better understand, clarify and tailor, if needed, the requirements;
  • Identify technology trends and best practices that can be adopted to enhance our competitiveness.
Profile:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent);
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and structural analysis;
  • Innovative spirit and ability to create “out of the box” solutions and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to model mechanical parts in CAD;
  • Knowledge in structural analysis using finite elements methodologies;
  • Knowledge in the software tools, SolidWorks, Nastran and Patran;
  • Capability to develop methodical procedures for the integration and assembling of the systems, in all their scopes and implement them;
  • Project oriented and requirements focused;
  • Good knowledge in English, written and spoken;
  • Skills in teamwork, communication, proactivity, critical thinking, and curiosity;
  • Interpersonal relationship skills;
  • Motivation and willingness to learn.
